Sara M. Bour
Sara M. Bour’s clients appreciate her unique perspective to Matrimonial and Family Law. She personally experienced the hardship families undergo throughout the divorce process, which furthers her empathy and understanding for her client’s specific needs.
Ms. Bour focuses her practice primarily in the areas of Matrimonial and Family Law. She counsels clients on a wide range of family-related matters, such as allocation of parental responsibilities and parenting time, child support, maintenance, property division, asset tracing, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, financial planning, legal separation, parentage matters, domestic violence and post-divorce issues.
Ms. Bour received a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law, where she earned a Certificate in Child and Family Law and received a prestigious CALI award for academic excellence in Family Law Legal Drafting. Throughout law school, Ms. Bour devoted the majority of her studies to Family Law, including authoring an independent research paper comparing and analyzing the notorious “best interest of the child standard” throughout the United States. Ms. Bour also authored a featured piece in Loyola University of Chicago’s 2014 Journal of Early Education Law and Policy.
Prior to law school, Ms. Bour graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago Honors College with a major in Political Science and a minor in History. In college, Ms. Bour began her career in Family Law as a law clerk at two different boutique law firms in the City of Chicago, concentrating her efforts on Family Law related matters. Commencing in 2012, Ms. Bour continued her career as a law clerk at Kamerlink, Stark, Powers & McNicholas, LLC and is now an associate attorney at the firm.
Ms. Bour’s personal and legal experience provides the groundwork for her practical advice to clients. She is devoted to counseling her clients through an emotionally taxing stage of their lives. Ms. Bour’s lifetime experience motivated her to enter Family Law and significantly influences how she effectively advocates on behalf of her clients
